Hanging around the North Pole
This autumn, the UAK2 team sailed aboard the Norwegian icebreaker KV Svalbard to deploy an ocean observation system in one of Earth’s most climate-critical regions.
From launching deep-sea rigs to installing a 20-meter sensor string near the North Pole, they gathered vital data to improve climate models—and even connected with schoolchildren through the creative Float Your Boat initiative
