    Aanderaa products for environmental research have been used in the oceanographic, hydrographic, river and lake research, as well as climate research markets for more than 40 years. Aanderaa has completely renewed its product offering over the last 10 years. Today, Aanderaa delivers the most technologically advanced self-contained and/or integrated remote underwater and atmospheric observation systems in the marketplace.

    Our Seaguard platform and expanding line-up of smart sensors may be used either as a self-recording instrument, or as a real-time Met-Ocean observing network. This versatility is available without the extra cost associated with a custom solution.

    Aanderaa systems for the environmental research communities include Seaguard RCM/CTD, Recording Doppler Current Profiler, automatic weather stations, wave and tide stations and buoy systems.     Conductivity sensor

    Salt Water Conductivity sensors from Aanderaa are compact, fully integrated sensors for measuring water conductivity. Measuring conductivity of salt water is a key parameter for in-situ measurements of several fundamental physical properties of water.

    Stand-Alone Doppler Current Sensor

    The Aanderaa Current Sensors are available in a profiling and a single-point version with three depth ratings. We offer Doppler Current Profiler Sensor, Doppler Current Sensor and the In-line ZPulse Doppler Current Sensor.

    Pressure Sensor

    Ocean Currents

    Ocean water currents are driven by winds, tides and density differences. The ocean circulation regulates the earth's climate by transporting heat. The flowing water affects offshore and coastal construction and also carries particles, animals, plants, nutrients, pollutants and dissolved gases. The acoustic doppler technique has become the preferred technology for most users measuring ocean current, because it is robust, needs no calibrations, can be used for both point (RCM) and profiling (Acoustic Doppler Current Profiling) measurements and is basically insensitive to fouling.

    Real-Time Data Delivery

    Marine data is only useful once it reaches its intended end user. A reliable data management and delivery system starts with sensors and instruments that enable end-to-end data transmission of rich data sets.

    Ocean Waves

    Surface waves are formed by winds either locally as "wind waves" with shorter periods, or further away as “swell" with longer periods. A rare case of extremely long period of ocean waves are tsunamis from e.g. earthquakes and landslides. Because ocean waves can travel far and can contain high energy it is important to measure ocean waves to understand their impact on shipping fishing, tourism, constructions, shorelines, water mixing, sediment resuspension, gas exchange etc.

    Acoustic Based Wave

    The acoustic based wave instrument, SeaGuardII DCP Wave, the swiss army knife of ADCPs with the possibility to measure Ocean Waves, Ocean Currents, Tide and Water quality all from one single instrument.

    Motion Based Waves

    Accurate Motion Based wave measurements are critical in applications such as offshore wind farm development, navigation, cable laying, breakwater building, and bridge construction.

    Single Sensors

    Aquatic environments are constantly changing. Regardless if you model effects of climate change on a global scale, operate an aquaculture facility, study the impact of human activities in the coastal zone, spreading of pollution, ecosystem changes, or are involved in coastal or off-shore constructions, measurements of relevant water quality parameters are fundamental to understand ongoing changes and risks and make it possible to calibrate and verify mathematical models.

    Aanderaa products for advanced traffic classification and road weather stations are reliable systems for monitoring traffic and road conditions.

    Traffic counting and classifying systems from Aanderaa provides the user with accurate detection and classification of vehicles. The systems provides parameters such as speed, length, gap and class of every vehicle that passes. Data can be delivered in real-time or stored for later analysis.

    Road weather systems from Aanderaa delivers accurate monitoring of weather conditions. This information is used to increase traffic safety and assist the planning of cost effective road maintenance. The Aanderaa road weather station can be delivered as stand-alone device or as an advanced part of a complete traffic monitoring system.

    The first generation Loadtronic was launched in 1991. In 2008 the third generation Loadtronic was launched. The system is the preferred weighing system for some of the leading manufacturers of wheel loaders worldwide.

    Loadtronic 3 is the only truly dynamic system in the market today and it is also approved for legal trade in compliance with OIML R51/MID-006.  Loadtronic 3 gives our customers the advantage of weighing while moving the wheel loader. In addition, Loadtronic 3 provides our customers with accurate weightings. This does not only increase productivity and profit, but also prevents overloading of the trucks.

    Information may be displayed on screen in real-time, or may be stored for later analysis. Loadtronic 3 has an operator friendly user interface with built in help functions.

    Today's exploration and development sites are located in the deep ocean or in Arctic regions with harsh environmental conditions, making it increasingly difficult to operate.

    Since the 1970's Aanderaa has offered crane load monitoring and safety systems through the MIPEG brand. It has become an industry standard for offshore crane load monitoring and safety systems.

    Being engineered together with more than 40 international crane manufacturers, the MIPEG systems are used by more than 170 operators worldwide. The systems are currently in use on more than 2000 offshore installations

    Mipeg Crane Monitoring System

    Lifting operations at sea is to be regarded as a critical and in some cases difficult and dangerous. An offshore crane is the “life line” between the offshore installation/vessel and the supply chain onshore.

    Mipeg X Compact - The Safe Load Indicator System

    The unit is based upon the MIPEG X system concept, offering a smaller, less complex system with reduced features using a 7” color touch screen display.

    Hook Position Indicator

    The Mipeg X system monitors the hook position. The display will give a clear visual indication of the hook with different reference points.

    Boom Angle Sensor

    The boom angle is measured and calculated/converted to show the operating radius to the crane driver.

    Slew Operation Limiter - OLM

    The Mipeg X system can easily include the Slew Operation Limiter by adding software and the actual sensor.

    Wind Speed and Direction System

    With Mipeg X you can integrate 3rd parties analogue sensors. By adding interface logic and software, new features can be incorporated.

    Safe Reach Display

    The Mipeg X is expandable and flexible. The Safe Reach Indicator may be selected and displayed as a standard option in the Safe Load Indicator package.

    Operator's Display

    The Mipeg X system uses a graphical color, touch screen display. The unit is programmed and operates as a highly flexible and expandable unit.

    Load Hoist and Moment Sensors

    State of the art strain sensor utilizing a unique, frequency based method.

    Automatic Overload Protection System - AOPS

    Our AOPS system solution is built to comply with the EN 13852-1. Any AOPS has to be designed in close cooperation with the Crane OEM or other person with similar knowledge to make sure that the combined solution meet the requirement.

    Roll and Pitch - Vessel Movement

    If there are limitations in the safe lifting due to vessel roll and pitch, the Mipeg X is now ready to monitor and alarm if the vessel moves outside the crane rated roll and pitch limits.

    Telescope Crane System

    Most cranes used in the Oil and Gas offshore market have a fixed boom length. Some lattice boom cranes may change the length by adding/removing a boom section. Some box booms may, however, be a telescope boom crane.

    Mipeg Data Delivery

    The Mipeg X is a crane monitoring system which is monitoring and logging the crane load cycles. The system is an event recorder which mean that no recording is done when the crane is idle.

    Hyd/Met station at Gothenburg Harbour, Sweden

    Gothenburg harbour, the largest port in Scandinavia, has used Aanderaa equipment to assure safe navigation and smooth operations for more than 20 years. The systems measure meteorological and hydrological parameters on three critical locations along the main shipping lane. Data is presented in real-time to the approaching ships over AIS (message 8) and the internet as a cellphone application in the ViVa system, developed by the Swedish Navigational Authorities and included more than 100 stations.

    The delivered system consists of meteorological and hydrological sensors and data logging equipment for measuring parameters that are of importance for operations in the harbour.

    Observatories

    Smart Sub Observatory is a flexible platform enabling tailor-made solutions, both with sensors from Aanderaa and other suppliers. They can be used off-the-shelf or customized to better cover application requirements.

    Weather Station at Kårstø Harbour, Norway

    A standard Aanderaa Weather Station(WS) is installed on an island close to the port on an existing mast structure. Here wind speed and wind gust in addition to wind direction is measured.

    Sailbuoy — Autonomous Surface Vehicle

    The Sailbuoy is a long endurance, wind driven Autonomous Surface Vessel (ASV). This low cost ASV solves the problem of collecting upper ocean current measurements and other oceanographic data in remote areas.

    Real-Time Communication System

    Getting real-time data from the field can be challenging with missing coverage, low bandwidth obstacles, and power limitations. Realizing that every data point count, Aanderaa has developed the integrated Real-Time Communication System that provides efficient tools for data collection and control of field instrumentation.
